New Balance Appoints Joe Freshgoods as Creative Director of Its New "Conversations Amongst Us" Campaign
The collection will include a 2002, 574, 550 and Kawhi Signature 2 as well as vintage-inspired apparel.

After working on a duo of collaborative projects with New Balance that included the 992, KAWHI, 990V3 and various apparel pieces, Joe Freshgoods has now been appointed as the brand’s creative director for its newest “Conversations Amongst Us” campaign. This new initiative is for a collection that will start to roll out in April 2022 that is comprised of vintage-inspired footwear and apparel.
For someone who grew up in the inner city of Chicago, Joe Freshgoods has always been by the culture and for the culture when it comes to fostering creativity, especially by the Black community. His keen understanding of the dialogue that goes within his communities coupled with his unique design sensibilities and past experiences working with the Boston sportswear brand are all components of why this move makes sense.
On the footwear side, this assemblage will feature new colorways of 2002, 574, 550 and the KAWHI Signature 2. Apparel pieces will include an assortment of sweatshirts, tees and a jogger. Brand ambassadors Kawhi Leonard and Storm Reid will be integrated into the campaign in some capacity.
Moreover, New Balance has donated $100,000 USD to Community Goods to serve students from underserved communities with the tools and education to understand the value of art and community and to flourish in the creative field.
In other news, New Balance has launched the XC-72 “Triple Black” colorway.
