Following in the footsteps of other legendary horror and grimdark video games such as Resident Evil and Dark Souls, Behaviour Interactive‘s asymmetric survival title Dead by Daylight is now also getting its very own board game.

The new tabletop experience will be developed in partnership with Level 99, a company focusing on creating board games for video game fans. Much like the digital experience itself, the Dead by Daylight: The Board Game will feature one player taking on the role as the Killer while four other friends will become hunted Survivors, trying to escape from death while repairing generators on the map in order to escape. There’ll be several maps to play on, and you’ll also collect bonuses on the way to help you evade the Killer more effectively.

“I am probably the biggest board game nerd that I know and Dead by Daylight: The Board Game is just an amazing experience. Many of us, on the DbD team, are huge board game fans, so our expectations were high. When we were presented this project, we were all impressed and excited,” said Dead by Daylight game director Mathieu Côté. “Level 99 have managed to perfectly adapt the Dead by Daylight experience to a board game: the Killers vs Survivors asymmetrical gameplay, the unexpected surprises, the game loops, everything is there. And with almost all original characters present, all the different perks there’s a lot to discover and love in this.”

For those interested, Level 99 has now created a Kickstarter project for Dead by Daylight: The Board Game, and it’ll launch very soon, with an expected shipping date for Halloween this year. You can head over to its website to learn more.

Elsewhere in gaming, a potential release date for God of War: Ragnarok has surfaced.
