S.S. DALEY FW22 Balances Obligation and Desire
Marking the brand’s second runway show.

S.S. DALEY makes its return to London Fashion Week to unveil its latest collection for the Fall/Winter 2022 season. Marking its second LFW runway show, S.S. DALEY’s new collection focuses on the dissolution of privilege in a balancing act about obligation and desire.
The new collection is comprised of two parts and begins inside of the stately home before proceeding outside. By organizing the collection in this manner, founder and creative director Steven Stokey-Daley illustrates the necessity of clothing for different activities. Specifically, the designer seeks to question them to rid of clothing constructs completely.
“As I worked on the collection, I started writing my own narrative,” said Stokey-Daley. “For each look, I gave it a character. It jumps from different periods and reference points, merging with my ideas of theatre and movement, to build my own modern-day period drama.”
The collection consists of an array of elevated classic pieces including knitwear, tailoring, striped shirts printed with 17th-century poppy drawings and more. From a waistcoat in black and brown leather diamonds to a flowing oversized tuxedo shirt paired with relaxed silk trousers, S.S. DALEY showcases that dress notes can be multidimensional. Trench coats are a collection highlight in plaid and printed fabrics with exaggerated balloon sleeves and extreme lapels. In addition to the number of menswear pieces, the new collection marks S.S. DALEY’s initial foray into womenswear.
