Haeckels Expands Horizons With Indian Ocean Collection

Created using locally-sourced seaweed and ingredients.

Margate-based skincare and fragrance label Haeckels has unveiled its new Indian Ocean collection, originally developed exclusively for Maldives resort Patina. The idea for the project originally came from the amount of single-use plastics used in the hotel industry, with Haeckels then creating a new supply chain that mirrors how it works in the U.K.

This includes harvesting seaweed from the Maldives for use in the products, all of which are small-batch and locally produced, and have their very own GPS coordinate. As well as the indigenous seaweed used, Haeckels also adds grapefruit, lemon verbena, neroli, orange and lime from the Fari Islands where Patina is based. The products in the Indian Ocean collection include body balm, body cleanser, conditioner, hair cleanser and hand cleanser.

Initially launched exclusively with Patina, the full collection is available via the Haeckels web store.

In related news, Byredo recently launched an innovative new room diffuser alongside OJAS.
