Dame Dash Labels Kanye West "Our New Michael Jackson"
Regardless of “whether that’s negative or positive.”
With the first episode of the Kanye West documentary jeen-yuhs now available on Netflix, Roc-A-Fella co-founder Dame Dash opened up about the growth of Ye and why he calls him “our new Michael Jackson.”
Speaking in a recent interview with The Jasmine Brand, Dash admitted that he never expected Ye to have this much of an impact. “I think this is the right time for that,” he said. “’Cause you get insight into who Kanye is, especially because he’s so public. He’s turned into our new Michael Jackson, you know, whether that’s negative or positive, but that just is what it is. I wasn’t expecting all that from Kanye.”
Dash explained that the he made the Michael Jackson comparison because “every move [West] makes, everybody’s paying attention to him” and that he “triggers the world,” regardless of the context.
