'Bridgerton' Season 2 Receives First Official Teaser
Premiering on Netflix on March 25.
Netflix has dropped off the official teaser for season two of Bridgerton.
The preview centers on the hotly-anticipated romance between Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, and Kate Sharma, played by Simone Ashley. Additionally, the trailer sheds light on the anonymous gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who was revealed during season one’s finale to be Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan.
“Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India,” according to Netflix’s official synopsis. “When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions — a true love match is not high on his priority list — and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides.”
“Dearest gentle reader,” Jule Andrews, who voices Lady Whistledown, narrates in the teaser, while several characters are delivered her latest writings. “Did you miss me?” After addressing the court’s ever-growing desire to unmask her identity, Whistledown assures viewers that she has been “honing [her] skills” and “sharpening [her] knives.”
The series is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Chris Van Dusen, who also serves as creator and showrunner.
Bridgerton season two will premiere on March 25. Watch the teaser above.
