Accompanying the launch of the “Fishermen Pack” sneaker collection, Mizuno journeys to the coast for a breathtaking Fall/Winter 2022 campaign.

With imagery shot by Japan-based photographer Yuthanan, the visuals tap into the country’s rich culture, tradition and heritage. Traveling on location to the small coastal town of Ine, north of Kyoto, the Ine Bay has long been the main trade route between mainland China and Japan. Renowned for its fishing industry, the picturesque village is home to the unique architecture of funaya (wooden boat houses that sit directly on the water) which serve as both docks and homes for the fishermen.

For this collection, Mizuno drops a trio of its signature silhouettes including the Wave Prophecy LS, Wave Mujin TL and Wave Rider 10. Incorporating the healing power of water, the inspiration is evident throughout the designs from the overlaid mesh across the suede upper paying homage to fishing nets as well as a color palette adorned in a gradient of “Deep Sea Blue” and “Foam White.” Insoles printed with the image of a kasago, a fish native to Japan, complete the designs of the sneaker range.

Check out the campaign images in the gallery above. The Mizuno “Fishermen Pack” sneaker collection is available to purchase now on the brand’s website.
