Back in 2021, Haroshi began transforming his eccentric characters into stone. Typically made with recycled skateboard decks, the series, dubbed GUZO, began a new chapter in the Japanese artist’s prolific career.
In collaboration with Avant Arte, the two sides return with a new cast of marble sculptures that conclude the GUZO series. Cast in ming green marble and mystical blue sodalite, the latest characters feature their arms outstretched as they smile in victory. Similar to Haroshi’s wooden works, each sculpture has a unique natural veining that will render no two the same.
GUZO – OCEAN and GUZO – FOREST are both editions of 50 and will be available to purchase for $10,574 USD via Avant Arte on Friday November, 25 at 9am ET. As with all their editions, the artwork will come packaged in a bespoke wooden box, including a certificate of authenticity signed and numbered by the artist.
