ZEGNA's "ADV" Campaign Shows a Sartorial Side to Real Madrid

Luxury Italian sartorial house ZEGNA was announced as the official clothing partner for Real Madrid earlier this year, and since, the brand has gone on to celebrate this partnership with events in the football club’s hometown and, now, a closer look at the collection with its “ADV” campaign.

Putting some of Real Madrid’s finest players at the forefront, the campaign spotlights the sophisticated football-inspired wardrobe that’s been crafted by ZEGNA exclusively for the club. Delivered in black, tailoring is made casual as items like a chore jacket stand as a contemporary and sporty alternative to a blazer, while overshirts make for a more relaxed look when the situation’s right. Likewise, jogging pants are swapped out for formalwear, while something more sophisticated comes in the shape of narrow trousers, fitting tighter to the leg to perfectly show off the players’ footwear — perhaps a pair of Triple Stitch shoes.

Double-stripe graphics add a contrasting block effect to the chore jacket, swapping out the typical boxy pocket design for something that harks back to Oasi Zegna’s heritage, all while maintaining the perfect pre-court session aesthetic.

Speaking on the collaboration, Gildo Zegna, Chairman and CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna Group, said: “I am outstandingly thrilled about our newly announced partnership with the Real Madrid, one of the most recognizable brands in the world with a loyal and enthusiastic fanbase. The importance of values is what attracted Zegna and Real Madrid. We are both convinced that what is visible, either an item of clothing or winning a football match, only matters if there is an ethical stance behind it.”

Alessandro Sartori, Artistic Director of Zegna, added: “Real Madrid is a unique football club, the most famous club in the world. Creating a luxury leisurewear wardrobe for such an iconic team of football players, and doing it in the traditional made to measure way, allowed me to test my ideas with men who truly live the lifestyle we address as Zegna. This makes for an electrifying exchange, in which we both learn from one another.”
