Tourneau|Bucherer’s luxury watch boutique, nicknamed Bucherer Time Machine in Midtown Manhattan, acquires previously owned timepieces from various notable brands — from Rolex to Audemars Piguet to OMEGA — and sends them through a rigorous inspection process, so each can be assured authentic. Tourneau|Bucherer’s master watchmakers complete tests to confirm that the watch functions within its original factory specifications, preparing it to be properly refreshed and renewed.
Once each timepiece is authenticated, they go through a tedious and detailed restoration checklist in which a full movement service and overhaul are carried out. Each component of the watch is then cleaned, lubricated, and assembled back together. Parts that may have been worn out or broken over time are carefully replaced using only original, compatible parts. Lastly, water pressure and magnetization are tested, the straps are replaced, and the result is a model that feels completely brand new.
