JOY Objects Creates Limited-Edition Chair for Très Bien
A yellow and white version launches exclusively at the label’s London outpost.

Although newly launched, JOY Objects has been gaining much traction – seemingly in all the right places. Now, the Stockholm-based brand has been enlisted by Très Bien to create a limited-edition version of its “Chair One” in celebration of the label’s revamped space in London’s Soho.
The Chair One silhouette was unveiled earlier this year, on the occasion of the brand’s launch at Stockholm Design Week. Each has been crafted from aluminum and medium-density fibreboard and dismissed the typical Scandinavian minimalism favoring maximalist color combinations. For Très Bien, JOY Objects founder Frederik Paulsen has splashed the seat in Snow white and Chartreuse yellow.
“The idea for the collaboration came in conjunction with a commission we did for the Swedish Nobel Prize Museum,” Paulsen tells us. “I had two ideas for colorways [for them] and when they decided to go for the more ‘sober’ one we decided to do the other one anyway because we thought it would be perfect for Tres Bien.”
“We been fans and friends of Trés Bien, and Hannes and Simon [the brothers behind the store] for ages, so we just called them and asked [if they wanted to launch the chair] and now we are here,” he adds.
The limited-edition chair will be available from October 21 at the Très Bien Souvenir Shop Market in London, and will be released online on October 24. In other design news, Tekla has drawn from the palettes of Le Corbusier’s architecture for a range of luxe mohair blankets.
