Porsche Brings The Art of Cyril Lancelin to Singapore Art Week
As part of the luxury car marque’s globe-trotting ‘The Art of Dreams’ initiative.
Those visiting the Lion City this month will find it hard to miss a gargantuan, twisting purple art installation by Lyon-based artist Cyril Lancelin, titled Remember Your Dreams. Towering at a height of seven meters, the interlocking inflatable structure is being shown as part of Singapore Art Week, taking up residence at Marina Bay’s The Promontory from 21 – 29 January 2022.
The interactive artwork is the first to be commissioned under Porsche’s ‘The Art of Dreams’ global art initiative, and was first shown at the Palais Galliera in Paris in October 2021. Singapore marks its first stop outside of Europe. Its impressive scale allows people to get lost in its surreal interior, marking a break from their everyday reality—the first step in anyone’s journey to recalling their original dream and making it come true.
Remember Your Dreams also alludes to Singapore’s own expectation-defying rise to become one of the world’s wealthiest territories, thanks to its innovation-friendly environment that has attracted dreamers from around the globe to pursue their next big idea. Lancelin’s artwork follows hot on the heels of other creative activations such as SCOPES Driven by Porsche and Dale Chihuly’s Glass in Bloom Taycan art car at Gardens by the Bay. Porsche’s ‘The Art of Dreams’ is set to travel to Milan’s Salone del Mobile design fair in June 2022.
“I envision Remember Your Dreams as a sculpture to be lived in and to be experienced by many,” says Lancelin. “Therefore, I am beyond excited to be bringing the installation to a city I have heard so much about and have been always keen on exploring, so it continues to awaken the child in all of us.”
