Medicom Toy Recreates HAL 9000 From '2001: A Space Odyssey'
Featuring a red light camera lens.




Medicom Toy has revealed a replica prop for the HAL 9000 supercomputer, which first appeared in the cult-classic sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
HAL 9000 is the main antagonist in Arthur C. Clarke’s Space Odyssey series, appearing as an advanced artificial intelligence that controls the Discovery One spacecraft and converses with its crew. HAL features a simple design, seen equipped with a red light camera lens and a speaker. The Medicom Toy replica measures 346mm in height and comes with a black base stand for display.
The Medicom Toy HAL 9000 prop is priced at ¥162,800 JPY (approximately $1430 USD) and will arrive later this year in May. Stay tuned to the Medicom Toy Instagram for more updates.
