G-SHOCK Creates a Mudmaster With Dakar Rally Veteran Toyota Land Cruiser

G-SHOCK has teamed up with a veteran of the world’s most punishing automotive competition for a special edition of its ultra-tough Mudmaster.
Toyota Auto Body, Toyota Group’s key body maker, has been competing in the Dakar Rally’s Production category for 25 years as Toyota Land Cruiser.
The Mudmaster has been designed to “evoke the Land Cruiser after an intense day speeding across the desert” with a mud and sand splatter pattern which has been carried over onto the watch’s black ion-plated stainless steel bezel and pin buckle using laser engraving.

G-SHOCK has recently updated the Mudmaster design with forged carbon bezel elements and the brand’s ‘carbon core guard’ system reducing the weight and size of the original model.
The solar-powered model – which includes a built-in compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer and is designed to withstand mud, dust and water to depths of 200m – is perfectly suited to survive the infamous terrain encountered by drivers competing in the Dakar Rally.
