Ed Sheeran Talks Watch Collecting With HODINKEE Founder Ben Clymer
Covering everything from his first watch to waiting for years for a Tiffany 5711.
HODINKEE has finally sat down with musician and watch collector, Ed Sheeran, for a lengthy chat with founder Ben Clymer.
The 48-minute video, HODINKEE Radio Presents: The Collector’s Edition with Ben Clymer, details Sheeran’s purchasing history, covering everything from his first watch, to getting paid for playing a Bat Mitzvah with a Patek Philippe 5726.
The video is littered with surprising insights into the Sheeran’s position as both a collector and a celebrity, including the fact that he spent years on a waiting list for a Tiffany-stamped Patek Philippe 5711.
The video is the first in new series, The Collector’s Edition, from HODINKEE that “aims to provide listeners with in inside look at the art of collecting”.
“Ed is one of the most respected watch collectors today and I am honored to have him as our first guest,” says Clymer. “Our relationship began over our shared passion for timepieces, and it was a real pleasure to be able to sit down to discuss this in-depth. Ed is not only insightful but entertaining. And as listeners make their way through the episode, they will not only get an inside look into what it means to collect but also discover some fun facts along the way. We can’t wait for you to listen.”
The Collector’s Edition with Ben Clymer is on Apple Podcasts and Spotify and can be viewed at HODINKEE or YouTube.
