Director Jim Jarmusch made a name for himself by creating films that reject traditional modes of storytelling and spotlight the non-glamorous moments of everyday life. However, like many creatives, the filmmaker also dabbles in a number of mediums to express his imagination, such as acting, playing in the rock band, SQÜRL and his unique artwork, which will be highlighted in a new book called Some Collages.

Published by Anthology, the book showcases hundreds of collages that Jarmusch has meticulously made over the years — the majority of which have never been seen before. Using newspaper as his choice of material, Jarmusch reinterprets a host of recognizable scenes and figures, such as Andy Warhol, Patty Hearst and many more.

The 264-page publication contains notecard-sized collages that are a reminder that even the most mundane of images can be recontextualized in funny, jovial and absurd ways. Some Collages retails for $40 USD and can be pre-ordered here.

Elsewhere, a Frida Khalo self-portrait is expected to shatter multiple auction records in November.
