Initially unveiled in 1977 as a forward-thinking performance sneaker, Nike’s Waffle 2 is an undeniable classic. Reworked countless times since its inception over four decades ago — most recently in a “Green Noise” colorway — the retro-looking silhouette returns this season in a Captain America-esque “University Red”.

Equipped with the iconic Waffle sole and oversized Swoosh, the upper is crafted with a soft suede fabric besides an exposed foam tongue. Sat atop a plush foam midsole for added comfort, the Waffle 2 is rounded out with pops of “Hyper Royal” and “Metallic Silver” alongside the overpowering “University Red”.

Nike’s Waffle Trainer 2 is set to drop in the coming weeks and will be available from the Nike webstore, retailing at £89.95 (approximately $120 USD).

In other news, Nike has expanded its “Toasty” pack with a new Blazer Low colorway.
