New 'Money Heist' Season 5 Trailer Sets the Stage for Final All-Out War
‘Volume 1’ will premiere on September 3.
Netflix has shared the official trailer for the fifth and final season of its Spanish heist crime drama, Money Heist.
As the season opens, the gang has already been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours — and though they have managed to save Lisbon (Itziar Ituño), The Professor (Álvaro Morte) has been taken by Inspector Sierra (Najwa Nimri). With doom looming, the plot thickens when an unstoppable new enemy emerges — the army — culminating in an all-out war as the end of the heist approaches.
Previously, Netflix announced that season five would arrive in two volumes. Volume 1 is slated to arrive on September 3 and Volume 2 will land on December 3, each with five, one-hour long episodes. “When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself,” series creator Álex Pina said in a statement.
He added, “We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”
