Michelob ULTRA Commits $100 Million USD To Support Gender Equality in Sports
Pledging gender balance in its influencer roster, sponsorships and talent endorsements.
Michelob ULTRA has announced a $100 million USD commitment to women’s sports over the next five years. Its newest campaign is set to increase the visibility of female athletes across the nation, with the belief that every athlete deserves to experience an equal level of joy in sports.
Michelob ULTRA is doing its part to level the playing field for female athletes by dedicating 50 percent of its lifestyle media inventory to content that features and promotes women in sports by 2025. Throughout their advertising, the brand is pledging to have an equal representation of male and female athletes, as well as across their influencer roster.
With their latest “Save It, See It” campaign, ULTRA is asking consumers to join in on the cause by “saving” women’s sports highlights on social media to increase visibility for these athletes. To kick off their campaign, the brand has partnered with three dynamic athletes, Nneka Ogwumike (WNBA star), CeCe Telfer (first openly transgender athlete to win an NCAA title) and Andraya Carter (basketball analyst, reporter, former NCAA athlete and champion of inclusivity). Ogwumike says, “It’s not just about making a statement today. It’s also about setting goals and taking actionable steps toward gender equality on and off the court, which is why I’m proud to be a partner of Michelob ULTRA and will continue to support their commitment to women’s sports equality.”
