Louis Vuitton's Monogram-Clad Pizza Box Is Not Actually for Pizza
It’s meant to hold a stack of vinyl records.
Among the multitude of imaginative accessories to emerge from Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall/Winter 2021 range, the latest monogram-covered offering is certainly worth a double take — it’s a leather “pizza box,” though it is most definitely not meant to hold a greasy slice.
The unique case was given its name because it mimics the physical shape of a typical pizza box, but instead of carrying fresh-out-the-oven pies, the luxe container is meant to hold a stack of vinyl records. The 14”x14” box boasts the House’s signature cowhide leather canvas with text reading, ” LV SOUND DESIGN AND RECORD CLUB” on the lid.
The exterior latches closed with a gold-buttoned leather strap and each corner is sealed with gold, Louis Vuitton-embossed hardware. In typical pizza box fashion, the design does not come equipped with any handles or gripping attachments.
Inside, minimal fixings for transporting vinyl, music discs or various accessories ensure secure travel, while a smooth, lighter-toned leathered maps out the compact storage space.
The Louis Vuitton Pizza Box is listed for $2,090 USD, though it is currently unavailable for purchase on the brand’s website. It is likely that the product will remain available exclusively in Louis Vuitton boutiques, though the website does tell customers to “check back soon.”
Elsewhere, Louis Vuitton is gearing up to release a new mobile game for its founders 200th birthday.
