Introducing BURGUNDER, Kanye West's Favourite New T-Shirt Brand
If it’s good enough for Ye, it’s good enough for you.
During a visit to his favorite architects Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Switzerland, in 2018, Kanye West purchased a T-Shirt from a small local store. Three years on and starring in the latest episode of David Letterman’s Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, the rapper and designer has again been seen wearing the very same tee. The brand? BURGUNDER.
Founded by Simon Burgunder, the eponymous, semi-professional outdoor label produces and designs small collections out of a small atelier in the heart of Europe. Utilising materials of exceptional quality and origin, the brand’s focus is to deliver premium garments all the while avoiding wastage by releasing them in extremely limited quantities.
Now, linking up with Berlin-based communications agency BAM, the pair have dropped their own limited-edition collection, centered around apples. Stylised as BURGUNDER (+BAM), the collection comprises T-Shirts, crossbody bags, water bottles, picnic blanket and pins, all of which feature an apple — an inclusion the pair admit has “no symbolism or deeper meaning” as to why it’s been featured.
Regardless, the result is a concise and clean capsule collection that will be available at the BURGUNDER (+BAM) pop-up in the heart of Berlin, Germany, from August 6, as well as via the Burgunder webstore.
