Sandwiched between the Los Angeles river and the 5 and 110 freeways, 3,000 people descended onto an impromptu show at Frogtown’s Egret park for six hours of free mayhem. Other acts included bands like section H8, Barrage HC, Clorox Dream, Self Sabotage, Wacko, Alpha and Omega and N8 Noface.
Although no one was arrested, the party was broken up by the LAPD in full riot gear, who used tear gas and stun grenades. The party will go down as one of the biggest punk show the City of Angels has ever seen.
If you weren’t there to bear witness, Born x Raised and Dead City Punx are releasing a capsule collection of styles that were worn by all band members that night. The release features a variety of tees, long sleeves and hoodies with the Venice-label’s trademark Angeleno style, alongside the DIY aesthetic that is synonymous to punk culture.
Purchase the capsule collection on the Born x Raised website on July 16.
Elsewhere in music, here is the tracklist to Pop Smoke’s posthumous second album, Faith.
