Kerby Jean-Raymond‘s label Pyer Moss first released “The Sculpt” sneaker as its first-ever in-house-designed pair back in September 2020, and since we’ve been treated to pairs that have utilized yellow soles alongside black and white uppers. Now, the progressive fashion house has switched things up, as its next pair is set to release in “Blue.”

When the sneaker first released, HYPEBEAST said “Despite its minimal branding, everyone is going to know exactly what these are.” We stand by this, because to this day the sneakers continue to make a statement, sell out, and command high resell prices on platforms such as StockX. With only Pyer Moss branding appearing debossed onto the medial-side midsole, “The Sculpt” knows how to make a statement, and we’re confident in saying that this “Blue” colorway is perhaps the best — and therefore maybe the most to-be-in-demand pair — thus far.

Pyer Moss says that the sneaker “connects to our current reality while demonstrating a glimpse into the future,” which is evident throughout the design. For example, it’s a chunky mid-top sneaker at heart, which doesn’t sound too daring. But as you can see, the silhouette is much more avant-garde than this, with its sole unit appearing sculptural and carved.

The sole unit is bulbous, featuring three pods at the toe, mid, and heel, which gives plenty of support to all three core pressure points along your foot. As for the upper, premium black suede is complimented with panels of black mesh, with the latter constructing areas such as the collar, heel, and tongue where comfort is key. Structural elements, such as the vamp, eyestay placket, and mid-panel are made from suede, before being detailed with white contrast topstitching.

Rounding out “The Sculpt” is its asymmetrical design seen on the vamp and toe box, which is carved out using white topstitching once more. A technical rope-toggle lace system completes the futuristic look.

Pyer Moss is dropping “The Sculpt” in “Blue” exclusively on its website on June 15 at 12 p.m. EST. It will cost $595 USD and comes in unisex sizing.

In other news, YUMS Sneakers are making a comeback.
