Converse Japan and Starbucks Reserve Roastery Join to Celebrate Tanabata
As well as the “stars” in both of its logos.
As Tanabata approaches, Converse Japan has teamed with Starbucks Reserve Roastery to release festival-inspired items. Tanabata is a Japanese festival that celebrates the legend of two lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi, who can only meet on July 7 of every year through the starry sky.
Spanning from kitchen goods, outerwear and accessories, the collaboration includes coffee mugs, glasses, vases, bucket bags, bandanas, T-shirts and earrings – all with starry motifs as both Starbucks and Converse have stars in their logos. Dressed in a glossy milk color, the Converse-shaped vase mimics the glow of the milky way while dual branding arrives on the tongue and midsole. The collaboration also comes with accessories like the two-way earrings where you can either wear them on its starry side or on its copper-ball stud side. One noteworthy item is the galaxy-esque T-shirts offered in light blue and black where the logos of the companies are transformed into the stars representing Orihime and Hikoboshi.
Priced between $23 and $119 USD, the Converse Japan x Starbucks collection is now available at Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo.
