Lorde's Third Studio Album Could Be Arriving Soon
Following the appearance of her name on the Primavera Sound Festival 2022 lineup.

Following the announcement of her appearance in Primavera Sound Festival 2022, it seems like a third studio album from Lorde is just over the horizon.
Eager fans who have been waiting for a Melodrama followup spotted an interesting piece of information about L3 on the Primavera Sound website. “Lorde, who will emerge from her retirement with her third album after her unforgettable visit in 2018,” it reads, possibly hinting that the record could arrive within a year.
It’s been three years since the Auckland-born artist released her GRAMMY-nominated sophomore effort Melodrama, and Lorde has been keeping it quiet ever since. She did, however, reveal in 2020 that she was working with Melodrama producer Jack Antonoff pre-pandemic. “Jack and I FaceTimed for over an hour this morning going over everything. But it’ll take a while longer,” she said, adding, “The work is so f*cking good, my friend. I am truly jazzed for you to hear it.”
While not a lot is known about L3, Lorde shared that she decided on the title while on a trip to Antartica in 2019. She also promised fans “something in return” in 2021 if they voted in the 2020 New Zealand general election.
Stay tuned for more updates on L3.
