G-SHOCK has an undeniable foothold in the world of culturally-influential timepieces and that narrative will continue to grow with the unveiling of the all-new G-SHOCK Skeleton Gold (SG) series watches. The upcoming metal-covered SG collection will feature three different editions, including the GM-5600SG-9, GM-6900SG-9 and GM-110SG-9A. This is the second offering that follows the Skeleton Camouflage series, which also puts bold spins on the stainless steel-covered trio of the GM-5600, GM-6900, and GM-110.
This latest G-SHOCK SG lineup features gold-ion plated, stainless steel bezels that perfectly complement the watches’ clear, semi-transparent resin bands. The GM-5600SG-9 comes through with a gold bezel, a reflective gold face and silver buttons as well as having a special EL backlight that displays the “Shock Resist” logo. The GM-6900SG-9 has a similar style, but with the G-SHOCK logo on the bezel painted white. And the GM-110SG-9A has a gold dial and markers with a touch of black bordering parts of the dial and finishes with a textured resin band.
Not too far off from the “Glacier Gold” collection released back in 2018, this new assortment adds more metal finishings to each watch’s resin build with gold and silver embellishments. All three models in this series embody stainless steel bezels, treated with ion plating that have gone through multiple stages of forging and polishing. Each model sports its signature features — like the date calendar and backlight — encased by its shock-resistant structure. Other functional elements of the watches, like 200-meter water-resistance, world time, stopwatch, timer and alarm clock, round off the details of the vibrant series.
Check out the new timepiece in the images above. The GM5600SG-9 retails for $220 USD, while the GM6900SG-9 for $230 USD and GM110SG-9A retail for $240 USD. They are available now at G-SHOCK Soho, select retailers and on the brand’s website.
