Pharrell and adidas Originals Reunite for Spring Classics Collection
Introducing new collaborative Superstar Primeknit colorways.
Following last month’s pink NMD Hu release, Pharrell has reunited with adidas Originals for a wide ranging new collection.
The Spring Classics capsule updates the Premium Basics range, with a selection of color options including grey, black, “Night Sky Navy,” “Olive Cargo,” “Ecru” and “Earth Brown.” These various colors all feature across crewnecks, sweatpants, hoodies, shirts and shorts, while of the heavy-weight, French terry cotton pieces also feature a subtle “Humanrace” logo.
As well as the Premium Basics apparel, the Spring Classics collection also introduces two new colorways of the Pharrell Superstar Primeknit silhouette. In this collection, the sneaker has been dressed in classic all-black and all-white, both of which feature rubber outsoles and bold green “Humanrace” branding.
To launch the collection, Pharrell and adidas Originals worked with photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis to shoot a campaign at the Noah Purifoy Foundation in Joshua Tree. Through the campaign Pharrell hopes to create a bridge between Purifoy’s work — which reimagined found objects into works of art — and the Premium Basics collection, through the way it recontextualizes everyday essentials.
Launching the campaign, Pharrell said, “Noah Purifoy challenges the way we perceive everyday objects by turning basic items into art, which is the purest form of expression. Turning this concept on its head, our Spring Classics campaign opens the door for us to weave more creativity in our everyday basic looks.”
The full collection, including apparel and the Superstar Primeknit colorways, is due to release via the adidas web store on April 9.
