Jon Stewart is slated to make a comeback to TV with his new Apple TV+ show, The Problem with Jon Stewart, set to debut this Fall 2021.
In a press release, Apple confirmed that this is the first project stemming from a multi-year partnership the streaming giant has with Stewart. The show itself is a “multiple season, one-hour, single-issue series which will explore topics that are currently part of the national conversation and his advocacy work. Each season of the series will be further explored in a companion podcast to continue the discussion.”
Stewart will host the show, as well as executive produce alongside his own Busboy Productions company. The series is an exclusive overall production deal with Apple, featuring Chelsea Devantez as the head writer and Lorrie Baranek as the executive in charge of production. Stewart’s Apple TV+ announcement sees the acclaimed writer, host, producer and director, join a long list of impactful storytellers at the streaming giant, including and not limited to Oprah Winfrey, Idris Elba, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Malala Yousafzai.
It is uncertain how many episodes will be included each season and how many seasons the show will run. The release date has yet to be solidified as of this moment.
