The Plessume Slam High Sneaker Combines Rick Owens' and Nike's Dunks

Plessume‘s Slam High sneaker is bootleg inception: it’s essentially a combination of Rick Owens‘ “Dunk” (officially known as the Geobasket) and the Nike Dunk — the former of which was originally inspired by the latter. Thanks to its mixture of elements from each silhouette, the Slam High is simultaneously a homage, history lesson and wholly audacious footwear option.

The Slam High’s cut and overall shape draw from Nike’s Dunk High. On the other end, the colorblocking and accents pull from Rick Owens’ Dunks. A mixture of neutral cream leather and stark black suede tones nod to an OG Rick Geobasket, as does the lateral side’s silver zipper and the midfoot’s “check,” Owens’ own cheeky homage to his favorite Swoosh sneaker.

Gunmetal eyelets hold cream laces, made in extra-long fashion so they can be tied around the heel in true Owens fashion. Interiors are built from full lamb skin leather for a comfortable feel. Hand-distressed and dirtied midsoles and outsoles add a personal touch and a final nod to Rick devotees’ love of a well-worn Dunk.
