Salomon‘s Japanese collaborations continue with the launch of its long-awaited COMME des GARÇONS collaboration. First seen in October, the off-kilter running shoes take Salomon’s outdoor running heritage to new lengths, experimenting with size, proportion and height to great effect.

The Sense Feel sneaker and RX Slider 3.0 sandal have been been given the COMME touch, appearing in platform and mary jane iterations, respectively. Ostensibly a trail sneaker, the Sense Feel is now a tall platform shoe, retaining the Contragrip outsole and breathable mesh utilized by its predecessor. Similarly, the RX Slide 3.0 features mesh and Contragrip, but now sports an additional buckle and heel for an extra-snug fit.

Each of the sneakers feature cushioning — EVA for the RX Slide and Ortholite insoles on the Sense Feel — for additional comfort and is available in tonal black or white colorways. Like other collaborations issued by COMME des GARÇONS sub-labels — including the recent COMME des GARÇONS BLACK’s Nike Air Zoom Talaria and COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT’s ASICS TARTHER — the sneakers are minimal on branding, but the Salomon shoes do retain the Salomon logo towards the heel and on the tongue of the Sense Feel and on the insoles of both sneaker styles.

Both bespoke Salomon models are available in women’s sizes at Dover Street Market New York and London’s web stores, plus COMME des GARÇONS flagship stores.

Alongside the recent emphasis on collaborations, Salomon is also developing its selection of stylish in-line models, as evidenced by the new STREETCROSS running silhouette, offered in a variety of versatile makeups.
