Skating publication The Berrics has launched its latest venture The Berrics Gaming and the first episode features YouTuber and skater Garrett Ginner.

For The Berrics Gaming episode 1, host The Hyphenate battles Ginner in the authoritative skating simulator Skater XL, where both the rapper and social media star fight in separate heats of S.K.A.T.E. Throughout the sessions, each personality throw out their cleanest, most well-executed moves, starting simple early on and escalating quickly.

Garrett also explains how long he’s been playing the complex game, all the way back in 2018 when it first came out on PC. For those unaware, Skater XL separates itself from skateboarding franchises like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and acts more like a simulation of sorts, where the analog sticks for console players act as control modules for the skater’s feet, thus requiring both finesse and style to pull off real skateboarding tricks. Both Ginner and The Hyphenate encounter successes and failures throughout the episode, from the simplest kickflips and nose manuals to the more complicated combos like Nollie Tre Flip to Front Boardslides.

Check out the first episode of The Berrics Gaming above and in other gaming news, there’s now an official release date for Crash Bandicoot 4.
