In a bid to make homes truly wireless, Xiaomi has revealed its “Mi Air Charge Technology” in development. The innovation from the global tech name will allow users to remotely charge electronic devices without any cables or wireless charging stands.

Xiaomi’s innovation is centered around principles of space positioning and energy transmission. The Mi Air Charge isolated charging pile features built-in five-phase interference antennas that accurately detect the location of devices. The phase control composed of 144 antennas works to transmit millimeter-wide charging waves directly to the phone through beamforming.

Currently, the technology in development is capable of five-watt remote charging of multiple devices within a several meter radius regardless of physical obstacles. Xiaomi hopes to develop its Mi Air Charge Technology to help create smart homes that can power a range of wireless powered home products for a clutter-free home.
