Indian Motorcycle Crafts an All-New Chief Lineup in Celebration of Its 100th Anniversary
Staying true to good old American muscle.

In celebration of the Chief‘s 100th anniversary, Indian Motorcycle has launched a whole new lineup for the model for 2022.
Now available in two trims, the standard Chief, Chief Bobber, and Super Chief will make up the base models while the Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse, and Super Chief Limited will be offered as premium options. The former will be equipped with the company’s Thunderstroke 111 powertrain and push out 108 pound-feet of torque, while the latter carries the more powerful Thunderstroke 116 engine that generates 120 pound-feet of torque. On top of more power, the premium trims will also offer Indian Motorcycle‘s industry-first RIDE COMMAND system, which displays a whole roster of information on its four-inch round display including gauge configurations, bike and ride information, turn-by-turn navigation, and weather and traffic overlays.
“We wanted to capture a timeless look that never goes out of style, and looks beautiful whether naked or fully dressed,” said Ola Stenegard, Director, Industrial Design for Indian Motorcycle. “We also wanted to keep it simple enough to allow riders’ imaginations to take flight with personalization options and possibilities. Ultimately, this is a bike that evokes emotion with simple mechanical styling and raw American muscle. It’s a pure riding machine.”
Indian Motorcycle’s new 2022 Chief lineup will be available this April. Check out the bikes in the gallery above or head over to the automaker’s website to learn more.
