New Balance Dresses Its 991 Made in U.K. in a Sophisticated "Brown/Navy" Palette
With touches of gray leather and reflective detailing.

New Balance continues to celebrate the 991‘s 20th anniversary with yet another retro-inspired colorway, this time around dropping the pair in “Brown/Navy.”
Following on from two hard-hitting collaborations — those being with Stray Rats and Run the Boroughs’ London Marathon-inspired pair — the 991 is served up in a classic NB colorway that combines a majority of brown suede with navy blue mesh and gray leather.
The result is a pair of sneakers that transcends good design, offering itself as a pair that could be worn with jeans and a white tee or a full suit for a more formal look. Thanks to the lashings of luxe brown suede, this 991 is timeless and perfect for the fall and winter months that are upon us, while flashes of gray leather add a contemporary, minimal touch.
Also adding to the modern vibe is the addition of 3M reflectiveness, which hits up the vamp, mid-panel “N” emblem, and the heel tab. Beneath the latter is a “991”-embroidered roundel, sitting nearly above the ABZORB-equipped sole unit that’s decked in white, cream, navy, and gray tones.
The New Balance 991 Made in U.K. “Brown/Navy” is expected to drop on November 12 at retailers such as Asphalt Gold for €209 EUR (approximately $240 USD). Check out the pair above.
