James Blake has dropped a new version and accompanying music video for his song “Funeral” featuring slowthai. The song appears on the Grammy-award-winning artist’s fifth studio album Friends That Break Your Heart, which was released on October 8 and features SZA, JID, SwaVay and Monica Martin, among others.

The new version and music video for “Funeral” arrived Monday, October 11, the same day Blake and slowthai performed the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. With a black and white overlay, the melancholic music video showcases a funeral procession, where Blake and slowthai are seen maneuvering in and out of a black limousine. “And I know this feeling too well (Too well)/Of being alive at your own funeral/Goin’, “Don’t give up on me”/Goin’, “Don’t give up on me,” echos the chorus.

Recently, HYPEBEAST caught up with Blake to discuss social media, collaboration and making his new album during a lockdown. “Lockdown probably did play a part in the making of this record,” Blake told HYPEBEAST. “I guess we got into music in some way through lack of a better expression of our emotions, and then the lockdown brought out a lot of stuff for a lot of people, and I think a lot of us needed to process it in our own way.”

In other music news, Don Toliver and Travis Scott sped around New Orleans for their “Flocky Flocky” visual.
