Seiko Drops US Exclusive Trio of Prospex Turtles For Oceanic Society
Some of the proceeds will go towards a global program to save turtles.
Seiko fans in the US are getting an exclusive trio of special editions Prospex dive watches marking the brand’s sponsorship of ocean conservation non-profit, Oceanic Society.
The organisation aims to study and protect sea turtles worldwide, so the use of Seiko’s fan-favorite “turtle” case is fitting.
Intricately patterned dials inspired by sea turtle shells are presented in three eye-catching shades of brown, turquoise and blue.
The watches, which are water resistant to 200m, highlight the Oceanic Society’s State of the World’s Sea Turtles (SWOT) program, a collaborative global effort of thousands of people and numerous agencies set on conserving the world’s seven species of sea turtles and their habitats.
Each watch features a black ceramic unidirectional timing bezel, day/date calendar presented in both English and Kanji, anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass and an automatic 4R36 movement with 41 hours of power reserve.
Each watch is supplied with a stainless steel bracelet and colour-matched silicone strap while a portion of the proceeds will go towards the SWOT program.
The special edition Prospex trio drops in November via Seiko and its retailers in the US, with each priced $750 USD.
Elsewhere in watches, Kross Studios drops the perfect watch winder for fans of the Dark Side.
