HBO Max Debuts Teaser Trailer for John Cena's 'Peacemaker' Series at DC FanDome
The James Gunn-written and directed show hits the streamer in January 2022.
HBO Max has shared the official teaser trailer for its upcoming original series Peacemaker, written and directed by James Gunn and starring John Cena.
The three-minute visual, which debuted at this year’s DC FanDome, promises that the show will “explore the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn’s 2021 film, ‘The Suicide Squad‘ – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.” It also gives a first look at the rest of the main cast including Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Steve Agee as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith.
Gunn wrote all eight episodes and directed five, including its series premiere, as well as co-executive produced the show alongside producer Peter Safran, Cena and Matt Miller.
