In 1998, Shawn Yates started to import Carhartt WIP to Australia and by 2002 the SUPPLY founder was stocking WIP in his store. Today, the two imprints combine for a Fall/Winter 2020 capsule collection, taking inspiration from vintage trail garments and applying techniques to several iconic Carhartt WIP pieces.

A special tie-dye method has been used throughout the capsule that reacts differently on fabrics such as lightweight polyester or cotton. The hooded windbreaker with its detachable mesh pocket that transforms into a bag is made from the former, and sports an iridescent, mottled effect as a result of the dye’s reaction with polyester. A similar look can be found on the five-panel cap.

Elsewhere, the trail shorts and a reversible shopper bag have been finished with the mottled look, while cotton essentials such as T-shirts and a hoodie have a slightly different tie-dye finish. These pieces are murkier and muted, shedding the metallic-like aesthetic seen on the windbreaker.

Rounding out the collection are two heavyweight pigment-dyed hoodies with tonal embroidery, as well as complementing loose-cut pocket T-shirts and a range of beanies that are finished with SUPPLY-branded Carhartt WIP tags.

Check out the SUPPLY x Carhartt WIP FW20 capsule in the lookbook above, and pick up everything from select Carhartt WIP shops, its website, select global retailers, and from SUPPLY when it drops on September 17.

In case you missed it, take a look at the NEIGHBORHOOD x Anti Social Social Club capsule.
