Rick Owens Crafts Sleek Black Bondage-Inspired High-Tops
Sporadically layered uppers offer a textured finish.
Rick Owens has dropped a pair of black bondage-inspired high-tops, a brand new addition to the label’s eclectic seasonal footwear lineup. This follows a similarly designed Bozo Chelsea boot unveiled just two months ago.
The new silhouette is dominated by all-black uppers, bringing out the sleek rubber textures of the shoe’s finish. It’s sporadically layered with tonal rubber overlays inspired by bondage straps, covering everything from its elongated tongue to its midsole. There are, however, some contrasting details, like silver-toned zippers that run along the medial sides, two vent holes at the midsection and three staples at the heel. All of these features are supported by a rugged, articulated midsole that’s been lightly treaded for optimal traction.
