'Ghost of Tsushima' Introduces Online Co-Op Multiplayer With 'Legends'
Free for PS4 players.
Ghost of Tsushima is introducing a new online cooperative multiplayer mode with Legends. Set to release Fall 2020, the forthcoming game mode doesn’t include protagonist Jin Sakai or any of his companions and instead follows four revered warriors popular in stories told by the people of Tsushima.
Players can team up with friends or via online matchmaking to create groups of two to four people, and can choose to either be the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin or Assassin — each character class coming with its own set of unique advantages and abilities. While the single-player campaign is based on the beauty of the island, Legends will be exploring locations and fighting enemies that take inspiration from Japanese folk tales and mythology.
Groups of two can play a series of co-op Story missions that increase in difficulty, its combat gameplay taking a more advanced turn than the single-player campaign’s and requiring synchronization between the two. Meanwhile, groups of four will follow wave-based Survival missions that feature Tsushima’s toughest faces and new Oni enemies with supernatural abilities. A four-player Raid will also be offered and boasts a “brutal, terrifying enemy” for those who think they’re up for the challenge.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be free for PlayStation 4 players and is scheduled for a Fall 2020 release.
