Iroquois SS21 Is All About '70s Boogie
Complete with peak lapels, sweater vests and fringe.
Iroquois often looks backward for inspiration, taking cues from vintage clothing and militaria with a hint of hippy flavor to taste. The Japanese brand’s new offering, Spring/Summer 2020, offers a concise selection of looks wholly indebted to ’70s style, offering a laser-focused take on that retro approach.
Relaxed shapes inform the colorful collection, with patterned long- and short-sleeved shirts tucked into baggy or flared slacks to create a timeless summer look. The retro motif is underscored by decorative belts, shiny leather jackets and plaid tailoring, the latter of which is topped of by blazers fitted with exaggerated peak lapels. Contemporary touches come by way of some readjusted buttons — one double-breasted jacket closes near the hem — and the intentionally dramatic dropped-shoulders that update the shape of cardigans and bomber jackets.
