BMW Unveils Luxurious Edition Golden Thunder Treatment for 8 Series
The limited-edition look is applicable to all 8 Series models.
BMW‘s flagship 8 Series comes in a number of iterations, from Coupé, convertible, Gran Coupé, and the top-spec M8 finishes, to the all-new Edition Golden Thunder offering.
This new limited-edition look is developed by BMW Individual, which is the marque’s exclusive personalization program. Edition Golden Thunder treatment is applicable to all variants of the 8 Series line-up and introduces a custom color palette to the model alongside other internal and external upgrades.
All editions will be painted in either “Sapphire Black” metallic or “Frozen Black” metallic and come with contrasting golden accents that highlight areas such as the wing mirrors, wheels, and the lower portion of the car, running from the front bumper to the rear. The cars are finished with BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line components, which adds black M-Sport brake calipers and darker paint to the kidney grille and other parts around the car.
Rounding out the exterior is an M-spec rear wing and M light-alloy wheels. Inside, you’ll find a BMW Individual Merino leather trim in black with “Edition Golden Thunder” embroidery in the headrests. Anthracite-hued Alcantara lines the roof, while various parts of the trim are finished in an exclusive “Aluminium Mesh Effect Gold.” A Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system and CraftedClarity glass applications for the controls are fitted as standard.
Take a look at the BMW 8 Series Edition Golden Thunder in the gallery above, and expect a limited run of these personalized models to launch from September 2020. There is no word on official pricing, but expect a premium to be included on top of the 8 Series models’ standard price, which starts at $87,900 USD for the Coupé.
