Medicom Toy Immortalizes Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat Artwork
Reimagining iconic prints.
Medicom Toy has immortalized the works of Keith Harring and Jean-Michel Basquiat in the form of two new BE@RBRICKs. This release follows a Toy Story Aliens iteration unveiled just yesterday.
The Keith Haring figure is fully covered with the artist’s heart motif over a glossy white foundation. Vintage cartoon-inspired eyes are placed at the upper half of the graphic, accompanied by thin arched eyebrows and a wide nose, below which a wobbly tongue sticks out of a large mouth. In contrast to the figure’s two-toned pattern, the Jean-Michel Basquiat BE@RBRICK is embellished with a bold multi-colored design, characterized by the artist’s sporadically drawn imagery. Bright palettes of blue, yellow, teal and nude are scattered throughout the model, bringing out the dark red anthropomorphic figure that shows up around the center of the BE@RBRICK. Furthermore, “JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT” branding is placed at the back as a finishing detail on the painterly model.
Medicom Toy’s Keith Harring and Jean-Michel Basquiat BE@RBRICKs are currently available on CJ Mart’s website for $122 USD.
