Axel Arigato Marathon Emerges in Two New Styles

Swedish footwear brand Axel Arigato has readied its Marathon silhouette in two new styles. Offering a retro running shoe-inspired shape, the Marathon mixes sporty materials with substantial construction, making for a look that’s equal parts athletic and extravagant.

Dubbed the Marathon HD, both of these iterations are built from a mesh base with cut-out leather overlays. One uses an earthy black as the base tone, the other an airy white. Each pair’s signature detail is present on the midfoot and collar, however, thanks to a gradient fade-style overlay. On the black pair, this is high-temperature with a sunset-style orange to yellow. On the white pair it’s cooler, switching from green to yellow.

Silver embellishments are scattered around each forefoot and heel, with a chromed-out silver Axel Arigato logo badge present towards the rear as well. Two-piece midsoles are made from a chunky EVA foam, completing a look that calls to mind thoughts of other chunky high-end silhouettes from brands like Balenciaga.

The Axel Arigato Marathon HD in “Black/Orange” and “White/Green” will release on the Axel Arigato webstore come June 16, and will retail for $295 USD.
