For the first time ever, RIMOWA and eyewear brand Garrett Leight California Optical have joined forces on a capsule collection inspired by the psychedelic art scene and surf culture of the California coast. Coinciding with the California brand’s 10th anniversary, the collection celebrates the lifestyle of Venice Beach with a range of beach-inspired eyewear, accessories and more.

Highlights of the collection include six pairs of metal or acetate-framed sunglasses in sepia, green, blue or black colorways. The sunglasses showcases GLCO’s fresh perspective on classically tailored eyewear, crafted with cutting edge technology and finished with precise hand detailing. Each pair of sunglasses will arrive in a co-branded, grooved case. “Sunglasses are an important accessory for any traveler, so partnering with [RIMOWA] to create this experiential package for our consumers felt very organic,” Garrett Leight, founder and CEO of GLCO, explains.

Other key pieces that complete the line of beach-ready accessories are a limited edition Essential Cabin Suitcase in white gloss and a beach towel featuring a surf and beach-inspired graphic. A luggage tag printed with designs of GLCO’s sunglasses, a set of retro beach stickers and a co-branded package of surf wax round out the collection. “Paying homage to our California heritage and the legendary eras that inspired this collaboration is a perfect way to celebrate our ten years in business,” Leight says.

Beginning March 12, the collection will launch on RIMOWA and Garrett Leight’s websites. The suitcase will be available to purchase for $1,100 USD, while the sunglasses will retail for $470 USD each.

In case you missed it, RIMOWA and Moncler have unveiled their cutting-edge “REFLECTION” luggage.
