INVICTO By Brabus Develops Armored & Blast-Proof Mercedes-Benz G63
Supported by a 789 HP V8 engine.
INVICTO by Brabus is the tuning company’s armor-proofing arm, which today has lent its hand to the Mercedes-Benz G63. It has been overhauled inside-and-out, equipping the luxury SUV with an INVICTO Shelter Cell that meets OEM factory armoring standards.
Brabus also equipped the G-Wagon with 3D-printed protection parts and armoring steel plates. The machine also comes with INVICTO VR6 Plus ERV (Explosion Resistant Vehicle) protection, which can withstand considerable blasts from potential attacks.
The INVICTO line presents three trim levels: PURE, LUXURY and MISSION. PURE gives the G-Class the maximum level of protection on offer from Brabus, but maintains an interior and exterior that is as stock as possible. LUXURY also features the high-level protection additions, but now comes with a tailor-made and handcrafted interior, exterior updates and performance upgrades.
MISSION is Brabus’ top-spec offering, designed to be used as an escort vehicle for “special target groups.” Around the car you’ll find protection vest-compatible integral seats, “Molle”-system door panels and seat backs, a roof rail system, a digital rear display mirror, the Acetech system with two touch control panels, an intercom system and 20-inch rough profile off-road tires.
Over 1,000kg has been added to the G63’s curb weight, meaning its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 (which packs 789 HP and 737 lb-ft of torque) can push the car from 0-60 MPH in 8.2 seconds, and onto a top speed of 130 MPH.
