Kanye West Remembers Kobe Bryant During Miami Sunday Service
Recounting the reaction of the late basketball’s legend to one of his songs.

Kanye West took a moment to remember the late Kobe Bryant during his Sunday Service in Miami, telling the crowd at the FPL Solar Amphitheater at Bayfront Park about the basketball star’s first reaction to his 2015 track, “All Day.”
In videos shot by attendees, West is heard recounting the story involving Kobe and his wife Vanessa just before getting into the song. “I asked him what he thought of this song and his only response was, ‘Theme music!’” he recalled, saying the last two words in a sing-song voice with a big smile. West and his choir continued to perform a Sunday Service-appropriate rendition of “All Day,” switching certain lyrics into worship praises.
West paid tribute to Bryant in last week’s Sunday Service as well, singing, “I was driving home/They was leaving your jersey on the freeway, and I just broke down, broke down, broke down.” Chance the Rapper and Kirk Franklin also made surprise appearances, with Chano rapping his verse on “Ultralight Beam.”
