Marvel and Capcom‘s glorious crossover franchise has seen many characters step into the fray as a playable fighting character. Now artist Christopher Cayco has illustrated every single character to ever appear in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. The footage above showcases a timelapse of his tribute, which took over 175 hours to put together.

Cayco stated his motivation for the artwork in the video’s description:

“I don’t play a lot of games outside of Pokémon, but I spent YEARS of my childhood playing this series with my cousins. It was life. And I want to share my love and appreciation for this property with you all! Share this video to any fans of MvC. Thanks!”

Marvel vs. Capcom is a 3v3 fighting series that began as a franchise with X-Men vs. Street Fighter in 1996 as a coin-operated arcade game. The titles spanned throughout that decade to the tournament-favorite Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and up to its most recent installment Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite from 2017. Before the crossover, the fighting game’s mechanics stemmed from original 2D comic fighters such as Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men: Children of the Atom, Darkstalkers and more and continues to influence the fighting category to this day.

Check out the glorious images above and below, then grab one of Cayco’s prints from his webstore.
