Japanese LEGO Master Recreates Hokusai's 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa'
The Ukiyo-e print in 3D form.

Certified LEGO Master Jumpei Mitsui has just unveiled his latest brick-masterpiece. Taking it back to the Edo-period of Japan, the artist recreated Hokusai‘s Ukiyo-e print The Great Wave off Kanagawa in magnificent block form.
In great detail, the giant wave with a claw-like crest can be seen in blue and white as it approaches three wooden boats with Mount Fuji in the background. As it was made with LEGO bricks, the entire piece of work is three-dimensional and can be appreciated from all angles.
Those in Japan can see the work on display in person at the HANKYU BRICK MUSEUM in Osaka.
