Continuing to deliver unique collaborative releases, mastermind JAPAN has now teamed up with Japanese audio experts COTODAMA for a new way to experience music.
For its latest collaboration, Masaaki Homma‘s iconic imprint has reimagined COTODAMA’s Lyric Speaker with its signature black fueled outlook. Sharing a reverence for a traditional Japanese notion roughly translated as the “spirit of language” conveying the power of words, the audio device evocatively displays the lyrics of the song being played.
Crafted with an unwavering dedication to high-quality materials and unrivaled craftsmanship, the take on the next-generation Wi-Fi speaker is defined by its contemporary design reminiscent of the look of two vinyl record jackets leaning against the wall. The rear board houses Hi-Fi audio speakers marked by “MASTERMIND” and skull and crossbones etching details, while the front is a screen equipped with “Lyric Sync Technology.”
The movement of lyrics on the screen changes based on the genre and type of music played providing a functional high art concept interior design item. COTODOMA’s Lyric Speaker is compatible with Airplay, Chromecast, Spotify, Apple Music and other leading streaming services.
The mastermind JAPAN x COTODOMA Lyric Speaker is set to exclusively release at GR8, MAXFIELD LA and MR PORTER December 18.
